Determine your skin type
A beautiful, smooth skin radiates youthfulness and freshness. Louis Widmer offers a complete care programme, tailored to the needs of every skin type. Two factors are crucial in determining the correct individual skin care programme - skin type and skin condition.
Instruction
It is only once you know your skin type that you can choose the right skincare products.
Blemished skin
The skin secretes sebum via the sebaceous glands. When the sebaceous gland canals are blocked by horny cells, blackheads are formed and become visible as black dots on the skin. Germs then settle in the blocked sebaceous gland canals, causing inflammation and in turn leading to the formation of pimples.

Oily Skin
Oily skin has enlarged pores, is very shiny and occurs especially on those areas of the body where there are many sebaceous glands, such as the head, chest and back. Oily skin usually develops with the onset of puberty and affects almost 80% of all young people. Whatever the age of the person affected, with the correct products oily skin can be normalised. By contrast, caring for this skin type with products containing too much oil could trigger the onset of acne.

Combination skin
As the name implies, combination skin is a combination of normal and oily skin, or of oily and dry skin. The different needs of the different areas of the skin require a careful combination of cleansing and care products.

Normal skin
Normal skin has fine pores; it is smooth and well supplied with blood. It has neither oily nor dry areas. Care and cleansing of normal skin is nevertheless very important if this healthy skin condition is to be maintained for as long as possible.

Dry skin
Dry skin is often scaly, rough and dull because the sebaceous glands produce too little sebum. This can lead to tautness and itchiness. Because of the reduced oil and moisture content, dry skin also tends more towards premature aging and is likely to have more wrinkles. Regular day and night care with products rich in oils and moisture relieve the feeling of tautness and dryness, and slows down premature skin aging.
